Details on this page!!!
Bead Town reclaimed its Guinness World Records title, in the category of ‘Largest Bead Mosaic’ on May 15, 2017.
“The record in the category of ‘Largest Bead Mosaic’ was first set in 2006, and in total since then has been broken seven times. Every single time it has been broken in a different country. This record has stood in Mexico, United Arab Emirates, China, Netherlands, Ireland, Sweden and the United States, twice because of Bead Town.”
Mike Janela, Adjudicator - Guinness World Records.
Bead Town lost its first record to a school in Sweden in December of 2015 after claiming the record in 2013.
Every year, only 4% of all Guinness World Records attempts actually get achieved. The percentage of a lost record that actually gets re-claimed is much smaller than that.
“We have been Guinness World Records holders for the past four years and this consistency is unique. We are on ‘Top of the World’ now; but, if we are satisfied with the achievement - we are already on our way down.”
- Stephan Wanger, Bead Town Founder/Artist
Work is under way on breaking Bead Town’s own record by doubling the size once again. The theme of the next artwork will be international, a global community that is celebrating life together. The work is scheduled to be accomplished sometime in 2019.
